50S AND BUDS! Easthampton MA says goodbye to winter and HELLO TO SPRING!

As temperatures rose to an INCREDIBLE AND RECORD BREAKING 58°F (14°C) in Easthampton MA today, 2/10/2023, (the old record was 52°F/11°C), breaking the record by 6°F/3°C, and being 24°F/13°C above the average of 34°F/1°C for February 10, of course it felt like spring today as not only were the temperatures UNBELIEVABLE for this time of year, but the sun has been shining for most of the day with low to moderate cloud cover, and with longer daylight hours the closer and closer we get to June, we have discovered some MAJOR signs of spring:

1. MOST LIKELY THE EARLIEST IN THE YEAR I HAVE EVER SEEN BUDS (February 10)
*IT'S SO EARLY, IT'S HARD TO TELL IF THEY'RE NEW ONES OR IF THEY'RE DEAD FLOWERS FROM LAST FALL
You decide! Buds in February? Yes or no? Comment below!

2. UNBELIEVABLE TEMPERATURES

It's only February 10, and the daily average for Easthampton MA on February 10 is 34°F/1°C, but today made it to 58°F/14°C, 24°F/13°C ABOVE AVERAGE. Today also BROKE THE RECORD for the WARMEST February 10th WE'VE EVER HAD, breaking the old record of 52°F/11°C by 6°F/3°C! And it's not only a 1 day thing, even though it kind of is. Here's the expected daily highs for Easthampton MA from tomorrow, 2/11/23, until 2/19/23, in both Fahrenheit and Celsius

2/11/23: 41°F/5°C
2/12/23: 49°F/9°C
2/13/23: 45°F/7°C
2/14/23: 48°F/9°C
2/15/23: 53°F/12°C
2/16/23: 61°F/16°C
2/17/23: 56°F/13°C
2/18/23: 36°F/2°C
2/19/23: 47°F/8°C

NOT ONLY IS EVERY HIGH ABOVE 32°F/0°C, BUT ALMOST ALL DAYS WILL HAVE HIGHS INTO THE 40S°F (4-9°C) AND SOME DAYS WILL BE IN THE 50S°F (10-15°C) AND ONE DAY WILL EVEN MAKE IT INTO THE 60S°F (16-21°C). KEEP IN MIND, IT'S FEBRUARY!

These temperatures are April-like temps, not February-like! Keep in mind, the average, and what temperatures should be, is hovering around the FREEZING MARK (middle-30s°F, 1-2°C) and most days will be FAR ABOVE THAT. What that means: If we get precipitation, it will be RAIN once again!

And because EVERY DAY for the next WEEK AND A HALF has a high ABOVE FREEZING, there's a good chance that not only will the buds STICK AROUND, but they may mature into flowers as early as LATE FEBRUARY OR EARLY MARCH, POSSIBLY AS EARLY AS (K-12) FEBRUARY VACATION! Meteorologists are possibly hinting at a possible cold front around that time, but that's 2-3 weeks out, so it's FAR TOO EARLY TO TELL.

ANYWAYS, ENJOY THE EARLY SPRING, EVERYBODY!
